Young artists’ Video Art Exhibition, now at its eight edition, curator Francesco Poli in collaboration with Francesco Bernardelli and Mario Gorni from Care/of Milan, and whose former advisor was Elena Volpato, in charge of Turin’s GAM (Modern Art Gallery N.d.T.) Video Library.
In Turin the exhibitions have always been spaced out with Contemporary Dance performances (arranged by Natalia Casorati’s Mosaico), whereas in Milan they have been spaced out with interesting contemporary poetry readings (including poetry by Alda Merini).
Since 2006 the Exhibition has taken place at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts of Turin, during the Winter Universiade in January 2007, in collaboration with the GAI (Association for the Circle of Italian Young Artists, established by 28 Art Departments of the main Province Capital cities in Italy), with Sharing (Digital Art Festival we have begun a fruitful collaboration with, on the basis of the closeness of the two fields and to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of the events): the hard-ticket Award has been reserved to debut works from Young Artists under 35 years of age recommended by the GAI Circle.
The first night of Video.it has been spaced out with an extremely interesting contemporary dance performance (Natalia Casorati, curator of the section, chose dancers Alessandro Amaducci and Paola Chiama), and the second night with a Contemporary Poetry reading (Caterina Fossati, curator of the section, chose poets Nicola Ponzio and Luca Ragagnin).
The commission awarded Enrico Gaido, with honorable mention to artists Jacopo Mazzonelli and Gabriele Ottino: all the awards were supported by Unicredit Private Banking (UPB).
